General Instructions for Civil Harassment Restraining Orders
No filing fees unless the Temporary Order is denied. If denied, then a fee of $435.00 is due if no fee waiver is on file
1) Documents can be typed or neatly hand printed, using blue or black in only.
2) Filing must comply with California Rules of Court beginning at 2.100 regarding formatting, color of paper, etc.
3) The proper court to file is where the harassment took place or where the person to be restrained lives:

4) If the request for a restraining order is filed by 10:00 a.m., the order will be ready for pick up between 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. the same day it was filed. If the forms are filed after 10:00 a.m., they will be ready for pick up the following day between 3:30 to 4:00 p.m.

6) The drop box is available from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in all locations.
7) The Sheriff’s Office is able to serve your restraining order to the other party. Their hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. They are located at 7000 North Michael Canlis Boulevard, French Camp, CA 95231 and the phone number is (209) 468-4475. Please call ahead for directions or further information.
